Trevet is an environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in San Diego, CA. We are seeking to hire a full-time (40+ hours per week) Environmental Sampling Technician to support our San Diego office. Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, assisting project teams in conducting field investigations on federal installations within California, Arizona, and Nevada. Investigations could consist of the collection of soil, groundwater, and soil gas samples, and conducting inspections of sites and documenting observations. College degree in science, engineering, or environmental studies preferred.
The ideal candidate must be able to work well within a project team environment, have good communication skills, must be able to follow directions and disseminate instructions to others, and have good organization and note taking skills. The position requires a mechanical aptitude to operate field sampling equipment and the ability to problem. The job will require working outdoors a majority of the time with some office time. The ideal candidate must be willing to work in all weather conditions typically encountered in San Diego and San Francisco Bay areas.
Office work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 0800 to 1700; field work hours are variable and may include travel over the weekends. The ideal candidate should be able and willing to work 10 hours and weekends, as required. Most of the work will be working on federal Installations within San Diego County, but some frequent and routine travel within California (and other states) for short periods of time (typically 1 to 2 weeks) will be required.
