Staff Environmental Scientist – San Rafael, California

Trevet is an environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in San Diego, CA. We are seeking a full-time, entry level staff Environmental Scientist in San Rafael, California. Must be eligible to work in the United States and on Department of Defense installations. The ideal candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently and within a team. Duties will include general office related tasks and may include occasional support of environmental fieldwork.
The ideal candidate will have the following office experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, communications, or comparable field
Possess excellent writing and oral communication skills;
Plan, prepare for, and attend meetings with clients, regulators, and community members and provide meeting minutes that accurately reflect the proceedings at the meeting;
Provide technical support during meetings;
Ability to review, understand and summarize large amounts of technical information into reader-friendly, concise articles or fact sheets;
Organize and plan for community tours;
Familiar with MS Office 365 suite, including Project and Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
Familiar with Microsoft Teams meetings;
Willing to learn how to work with Adobe Acrobat software;
Ability to work well in a small group, and self-perform and coordinate multiple, diverse tasks common to a small company, fast-paced, growth environment; and
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve technical problems and communicate solutions concisely and confidently..
Desired skills include:
Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, and other relevant federal and state regulations and guidance
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher class preferred
Past meeting support experience
