Potable Water System Sanitary Survey, Naval Air Station Fallon, Fallon, NV.
TREVET evaluated the raw water source, treatment facilities, water conveyance equipment, operation, maintenance, and management of the public water system. Reports from prior sanitary surveys of the site, water system plans, schematics, physical system maintenance data, and water quality reports were reviewed. The field investigation complied with the USEPA’s 8-step process for observation and documentation of the raw water sources, treatment systems, and distribution systems. The location of the facility over 20 miles from NAS Fallon and the commingling of water from the NAS and the City of Fallon through the shared arsenic treatment system complicated the engineering aspects of the system. The results of the investigation, recommendations, and cost estimates were provided the Navy in draft and final sanitary survey reports.
