Community Relations Support Staff – San Rafael, California

Trevet is an environmental and engineering consulting firm headquartered in San Diego, CA. We are seeking a full-time Community Relations Support Staff member in San Rafael, California. Must be eligible to work in the United States and on Department of Defense installations. The position includes working with clients and team members to prepare meeting agenda, prepare meeting minutes; set up of space for meetings, including projection of virtual meeting; coordination with audio-visual technician; take notes and prepare meeting minutes; various research projects, coordinating with other team members and subject matter experts to research topics; prepare mailers for community outreach; coordinate with newspapers for meeting notices; reserve tour bus, coordinate bus tours including reserving bus, preparing handouts. The ideal candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently and within a team. Duties will include general office related tasks and support of environmental restoration program management and community meetings, and some travel.

The ideal candidate will have the following office experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, communications, political science, public relations, English, or comparable field;
  • 0-3 years of related work experience;
  • Possess excellent writing and oral communication skills;
  • Plan, prepare for, and attend meetings with clients, regulators, and community members and provide meeting minutes that accurately reflect the proceedings at the meeting;
  • Provide technical support during meetings (projectors, speakers, internet connections);
  • Ability to review, understand and summarize large amounts of information into reader-friendly, concise articles or fact sheets;
  • Familiar with MS Office 365 suite, including Project and Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
  • Familiar with Microsoft Teams meetings;
  • Ability to work well in a small group, and self-perform and coordinate multiple, diverse tasks common to a small company, fast-paced, growth environment; and
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve technical problems and communicate solutions concisely and confidently.
