Steam Distribution System Decentralization – Design-Build

Under contract to the Navy’s prime contractor, Trevet provided civil engineering design and site layout for this basewide design-build project which removed the existing central steam system and replaced it with natural gas fired heating and hot water equipment. Substantial energy and operational savings are projected to be achieved for the Navy.

Trevet provided pipeline routing for over 10 miles of gas utility lines. Most of the gas lines are owned and operated by the Navy, with the exception of 3,400 feet of 4-inch gas line that is owned and operated by San Diego Gas and Electric, requiring that design plans complied with both military and public utility standards.
