PFAS Remedial Investigations, MCAS Yuma, AZ

PFAS RIs, MCAS Yuma, AZ

Trevet conducted remedial investigations (RI) at four areas of concern within existing Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma Installation Restoration Program sites. Activities included per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) soil and groundwater contamination nature and extent assessment, site-specific PFAS concentration and offsite migration evaluation, site boundary assessment, human health risk assessments, subsurface geology exploration, monitoring well installations, and sampling for PFAS analysis.

Working close to the active runways at both the MCAS Yuma and the Yuma International Airport required significant coordination with both facilities to minimize operational impacts. The Trevet team conducted fieldwork over weekends and at other times when airfield operations were less active and navigated AirOps coordination and schedule changes and with relatively minimal issues, keeping the project on schedule and moving forward.

Additional PFAS sampling and analysis and production of four separate RI reports continue.
